Used refinery including crude oil distillation unit (CDU) of 27,000 BPD, vacuum distillation unit (VDU) of 20,000 BPD, asphalt plant of 100,000 TPY, and a water treatment plant. The refinery was built in 1970's and permanently shut down and mothballed in 2016. The VDU takes reduced crude oil and separate it into #2 oil, vacuum gas oil, and #6 oil or asphalt. The VDU is capable of stand-alone operation and can run at 50% turn-down ratio. The asphalt production process starts with receiving various raw components of liquid asphalt or bitumen for blending. These components are delivered by barge at the dock, then piped into designated storage tanks, blended, and prepared for sale.
The refinery covers approximately 20 acres of a 100-acre property, allowing space for additional processing facilities and a substantial area suitable for greenfield renewable energy projects, such as hydrogen production, biofuels, and geothermal energy. The site features a barge dock capable of accommodating two 30,000-barrel barges simultaneously. It also includes a truck rack facility. The on-site storage tanks vary in size, with a total capacity of 700,000 barrels, and can store crude oil, asphalt, jet fuel, kerosene, naphtha, and various other fuels and feedstocks.
