Biofermentation Plant - Asset Recovery - BioEngineering

Overview

Phoenix identified an unused 4900L (3200L working volume) 316L Stainless Steel Bioreactor Production Plant, manufactured by BioEngineering, for cell-based products. The plant was located at the owner's facility in San Diego, California. The owner, a cell-based food manufacturing startup, had purchased the system a few years ago. However, their project scope and requirements changed, rendering the system unnecessary. The system remained unopened in its crates and was stored in a climate-controlled warehouse for several years. When the owner needed to free up warehouse space, they decided to sell the entire system.

After Phoenix secured the system for purchase, they began searching for a buyer. Phoenix identified potential buyers and developed interest from several serious parties. Ultimately, a biotechnology company specializing in fermentation decided to purchase the unit. Phoenix and the buyer executed a purchase agreement, completed payment, and committed to removing the system within a short timeline. Phoenix successfully facilitated the transaction, managing all aspects of removal, loading, transportation, and delivery to the client.
