Unused 225 BPD desulfurization unit designed to remove sulfur from hydrocarbon liquids from biomass through hydrodesulfurization process. It can also process other feedstocks. It can reduce sulfur content from 45 ppm to 7 ppm in diesel. Its reactor can accommodate between 2.1 to 10.4 m3/hr (315 to 1574 BPD) of feed treating capacity depending on selected feedstock, process, catalyst activity, and desired reaction severity. The unit was only run for testing purpose after it was installed. The unit is filled with fresh catalyst. In stock an extra 22.5 barrels of new catalyst is available. Vessels are under nitrogen blanket. This pilot-scale unit is perfect for process development or research projects. It can easily be repurposed to perform isomerization, heteroatom removal, de-nitrogenation, de-oxygenation, de-chlorination, de-metallization, de-waxing, cloud point reduction, olefin saturation, de-aromatization, mild hydrocracking.
